Society of Australian Sexologists

The Society of Australian Sexologists Ltd (SAS) represents health and allied health professionals working in the area of sex therapy, sexuality education, sexual health and sexology. SAS is a member-organisation of the Asia Oceania Federation of Sexology (AOFS), and the World Association of Sexual Health (WAS). SAS is a founding organisation of the Australian Sexual Health Alliance (ASHA) – a body of professional organisations working in sexual health.

The Society offers membership, professional development, supervision and a rigorous accreditation process for those practising as psychosexual therapists, sex therapists, sexuality educators and sexologists. Members abide by a strict Code of Ethics and Practice and the WAS Millennium Declaration of Sexual Rights. One of the goals of SAS is to self-regulate the practice of Psychosexual Therapy and Sexuality Education, for the protection of our communities, in particular, those at an increased risk and vulnerability.
