Dr Alexandra Walker is a Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist who works in both public health and private practice. She is head of the Neuropsychology Unit at Westmead Hospital and Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist at the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service at Westmead Hospital. She has over 20 years experience in all aspects of adult neuropsychology, including assessment of cognitive impairment in traumatic brain injury, stroke, neuropsychiatry and dementia. Dr Walker specialises in the area of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Clinically, her work focuses on neuropsychological assessment, and the provision of opinions on capacity determinations and recommendations for individuals and their treating team to maximise cognitive function. She is a member of the working group for the NSW Motor Accidents Authority guidelines for the neuropsychological assessment after TBI. Her peer reviewed journal publications include papers on neuropsychological assessment after TBI, consideration of culturally and linguistically diverse factors in neuropsychological assessment and treatment of anger management difficulties after TBI. Dr Walker is an Honorary Associate of Macquarie University, and is involved in the teaching and supervision of postgraduate neuropsychology students.
