A/Prof Andre Renzaho is a Public Health and Nutritional Epidemiologist with expertise in the area of complex humanitarian emergencies and development aid. He has worked with a number of United Nations agencies, government organisations, international non-government organisations, and the tertiary education sector in Australia and overseas. He did not become an academic until 2007 when he took up a position as Senior Research Fellow at Deakin University. He was promoted to Principle Research Fellow (Associate Professor) in 2010 within four years, in recognition of his research outputs and service to the community. His responsibilities have included growing a research team and program through the creation of the Migration, Social Disadvantage and Health Program (of which he is the director).
