Dr. Turman studied medicine at Ege (Aegean) University in Turkey. In 1987, he moved to Sydney and commenced his doctoral study in neurophysiology at the School of Physiology and Pharmacology, University of NSW. He received his PhD in 1992. Dr. Turman was a visiting research fellow at the Institute of Neurology, London, UK and the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology, Ege University Medical School, Turkey, and established collaborative links. He became senior lecturer in 1996 and Head of School of Biomedical Sciences in 2002; He joined Bond University in July 2005 and is currently an Associate Professor at Bond University, Faculty of Health Sciences & Medicine, Queensland. He also holds the position of Honorary Research Associates in the Discipline of Biomedical Science at the School of Medical Sciences ,Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney.
