Dr Cokorda Lesmana Udayana University, Bali-Indonesia. Dr. Lesmana, is one of Indonesia’s only 700 psychiatrists, is the youngest PhD in this field in a country with an alarmingly rising number of people with mental health disorders. He attended medical school at Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya University and finished his Psychiatry specialty at Bali’s prestigious Udayana University in 2005, furthering his studies there until his PhD in Biomedicine was completed in 2012. Currently, he heads up Udayana’s Culture Psychiatry Division, a branch concerned with the cultural and ethnic context of mental disorders. He has particularly distinguished himself in the development, study and evaluation of a new psychiatric intervention method, Spiritual-Hypnosis Assisted Therapy (SHAT), which is used in the clinical treatment of childhood psychological trauma.
