Dr Joel Cullin is a psychotherapist and family therapist in full time private practice in Brisbane. Originally trained in social work, Joel holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health (psychotherapy) and a PhD from the University of Queensland. Joel's Master's and Doctoral theses both explored systemic thinking about complex problems. Joel has been a course coordinator and Lecturer at the University of Queensland, teaching courses in Family Therapy, Human Development and Child Protection. Joel is a past board member of the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Family Therapy, a contributor to the professional literature in family therapy and psychotherapy, and a regular provider of training in psychotherapy, family therapy and systemic thinking. Before entering private practice, Joel worked in an array of public contexts, including adult mental health, child and youth mental health, child protection (in the United Kingdom), and community-based family therapy. Joel provides therapy to individuals, couples and families from his consulting rooms in Spring Hill, Brisbane. Joel also provides clinical supervision to other professionals providing psychotherapeutic services, and provides consultation services on a wide range of matters concerning complex problems and their resolution.
