Dr Katerina Zavitsanou, School of Psychiatry, University of New South Wales, Neuroscience Research Australia, Schizophrenia Research Institute. Katerina spent 4 years (2000-2004) in the School of Biomedical Science, University of Wollongong, where she contributed in the establishment of a novel research program in schizophrenia research funded by the Schizophrenia Research Institute. Her research focused on the investigation of neurochemical abnormalities in post mortem brain of schizophrenia patients and in animal models of disease. She accepted a position with ANSTO in 2004 to establish a laboratory for in vitro histological, light microscopy and autoradiographic techniques to be used in the evaluation of new radiopharmaceuticals.
