Dr. Lea Crisante is a Clinical Psychologist with many years experience working in mental health as a practitioner, lecturer and supervisor. Her training has been in diverse areas including cognitive behaviour therapy, behavioural family interventions, systemic family therapy, marital therapy and the treatment of anxiety in children and adolescents. Dr. Crisante has presented many papers and conducted training overseas and in Australia, as well as taught in several post-graduate programmes at universities in Sydney. Her transcultural work began with the introduction of multicultural mental programmes in the health sector and includes work at the NSW Transcultural Mental Health Centre, where she currently provides external supervision for sessional practitioners. In research for her PhD., she investigated parenting interventions with parents from Chinese, Pacific Island and Arabic backgrounds. Dr. Crisante has been given a national award for innovation in practice for her cross-cultural supervision programme. In 2007, she was invited to teach family therapy in a number of universities in Iran.
