The counselling and psychotherapy fields are now at a point in their evolution where they are being challenged to produce evidence to demonstrate their effectiveness for clients, in order to raise the profile of the profession with governments and the community. Yildiz presents a study of the modality of Systemic Family Constellations which has been found to be effective in improving relationships and also the relationship-with-Self, thereby improving self-esteem and mental health.
The aim of the study was to evaluate the brief, experiential, solution-focused, phenomenological, Family Constellations process experienced in workshops or private sessions on relationships and wellbeing, by volunteer participants in the age range 22-59 years. The study has implications for therapy in showing the value of the phenomenological, experiential approach on the ability of human beings to make new meaning. Clients improve their perception of themselves within their original and present family systems, helping them find a healthier place from within that may be projected into their world, in a more functional manner, for their inner and relational worlds.
