Medically or psychologically oriented health professionals can feel equally ill equipped to address sexual concerns, leaving the woman feeling abnormal and helpless. She can be the casualty of the great divide, between the problem being seen as either a physical or psychological one. It also presents a simple schema, which can help the woman (and her partner) recognise the importance of the mind – body connection when it comes to sex.
