Christianity as framework in helping survivors of Trauma & Torture.

The Christian mindset, i.e worldview, is a powerful tool for dealing with survivors of Trauma & Torture (T & T). The bible is not a textbook on T & T. However, it deals with the theme of suffering from a perspective susceptible to inspire hope to trauma and torture survivors. For survivors of T & T, hope comes through identifying with other T & T survivors and understanding of their own predicament in terms of the body responding to exposure to traumatic experiences. Hence, psycho-education and inspirational tools serve well in therapy. The bible and particularly the “Christ” story as an inspirational tool in helping T & T survivors is the main point of the lecture.
