Chinese Psychological Society launched its ethics, “Chinese Psychological Society Code of Ethics for Clinical and Counseling Practice” in 2007. During performance of the ethics, there are many ethical violations and dilemmas in the category of multiple relationships. On the one hand, Chinese clients are more likely to have special relationship with their therapists. On the other hand, Chinese therapists feel difficulty to deal with this kind of intention of their clients. Some of them involve the multiple relations voluntarily or passively with their clients. This phenomenon may be related to the collectivistic nature of Chinese culture. The culture emphasises “interpersonal network”, this emphasis on interpersonal relationships may create extra challenges for professionals to maintain ethical boundaries.
