An interactive workshop to recognise family dynamics and stressors with children with ADHD or ODD based on individual family members personalities.

This workshop is highly interactive. The main objective is for participants (acting as parents) to determine their main personality functioning needs and concerns as a parent and identify children’s functioning needs and concerns with special attention given to challenging and ADHD or ODD children.

The workshop will help participants to use very interactive methods to work with parents and to recognise the reasons for behaviour for non diagnosed challenging behaviour and also for diagnosed ADHD and ODD child. Participants will be able to recognise the interactive dynamics of families based on preferences and habits of personality styles.

Participants will recognise the need to take the time to examine parenting styles; behaviour management strategies and emotional responses before encouraging parents to attend professionals for possible ADHD or ODD diagnosis.

Participants will be involved in movement into groups; self evaluations of strengths and learning areas; discussion and questioning. Posters; butcher paper, and power point summaries will be used.  Written booklets on personality styles and exercises will also be available for purchase.
