Psychological assessment at STARTTS is established on the Bio-Psycho-Social Model, which is based on an analysis of the clients’ heredity, level of certain neurotransmitters; psychological symptoms and the impact upon the person’s family and social functioning. Individuals inherit in multiple genes the tendencies to express the certain traits or behavior, which may be activated by stress. Vulnerability is an inherited tendency, biologically based condition that makes one susceptible to developing a disorder. Certain type of stress (environmental event) develops a certain disorder.

Mental status exam emphasises on clients’ cognitive, emotional and behavioural responses, while paying attention to the clients’ appearance and thinking processes, which indicate persons’ intellectual functioning and cognitive capacities. Observing clients’ mood and affect regulation importantly helps to determine clients’ feelings and emotional responses that are crucial in order to understand the nature of psychological conditions.
