Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the degree of sexual dysfunction among infertile Indian men.
Materials and Methods: 1103 infertile men who were referred to IVF centre for management of their infertility problems were assessed for their sexual dysfunction while excluding the criterion of unconsummated marriage. Distribution of sexual dysfunction and its relationship to infertility were analyzed through SPSS software.
Results: The most common sexual dysfunction was desire disorder 42% (lack of desire), 24% were found to have erectile dysfunction, and 9% had difficulty in collecting semen for IVF, IUI and for semen analysis.
Conclusion: Sexual dysfunction is very common in infertility patients. Infertility gives lot of pressure to the male partner. Physicians treating infertility should pay more attention to this issue and the couples also require to be treated promptly by a sexologist.
